Happy Bucks!

Dave Renninger shared special news about the Library ---  a new Director for the Stow-Munroe Falls Library has been selected.  He promised to introduce her to our Club SOON!

Karen Monbeck had wonderful news --- Julie, her daughter, has a new position with the Barberton school district as a Curriculum Consultant and Literacy Liaison.

Mary Dula was excited!  Her daughter's home in Cuyahoga Falls sold in 4 days!!!  WOW!!!

Annette Oborn (and Bob Oborn!) shared great news with us --- Patrick, their son, was celebrating one year of sobriety with his family.  All of us smiled and clapped for Patrick!!

Highlights from last week's program:

Dave Christman told us of the pride (and happiness!) he feels when mentoring and guiding the people who work with him.    He introduced Susan Lines, a broker since 2011 with CBRE (Coldwell Banker Richard Ellis).  CBRE is the largest commercial real estate services company in the world.

During this pandemic, real estate investors are trying to figure out how to mitigate their losses.  Multi-family housing appears to remain strong and almost recession-proof.  Demand will eventually return for the Hotel/Lodging industry. (We will travel again!!)  The Grocery segment is currently thriving, at the expense of the Restaurant industry.  It is thought that 50% of current restaurants will not recover.  Malls may be repurposed (cold storage; industrial use).

Office space will be restructured, and perhaps downsized, because more employees are working from home.  However, business owners are beginning to review data comparing the productivity of at-home workers vs. the efficiency of their work product.  Results are mixed.  The pandemic has a silver lining for businesses, customers, and employees --- a new attention to health and safety.  The world is ever-changing.  History will repeat; we survived difficult times in the past and will recover from this current life-changing crisis.

Thank you Susan!  We appreciated your thoughts and opinions on the expected changes to the commercial real estate markets and properties.

A BIG ROTARY shout-out to ANDREA DENTON!!!  Your detailed notes of our meetings are soooooo appreciated!!  Thank you for your service to our Club!
