Happy Bucks!

Many, many thanks to EVERYONE who helped with our 2020 annual Holiday Helping Hands project!  We thank EVERYONE who helped bring smiles to 27 children (12 families) this year.  Rotarians --- please be proud of your 'SERVICE ABOVE SELF' ... you really outdid yourselves this year!!

And, thank you to everyone who stood in front of the Stow Hobby Lobby store ringing the bell for the Salvation Army Red Kettle campaign.  The shoppers and Rotarians were VERY generous; the Salvation Army coordinators were VERY pleased; the funds raised stay in the community --- helping people in need. Our smiles and greetings warmed the hearts of many!!!  Our donations affirmed our love and compassion for helping others.  Thanks!

Highlights from our last meeting in 2020:

Jim Laber was our meeting host.  Jim told us of a new topic discussed at his company's weekly staff meetings.  Each attendee is given one to two minutes to tell of an activity, etc. that brought joy to his/her life during the preceding week.  All employees have embraced this 'getting to know you' segment of their meetings.  Kudos to Jim and his group for making the world a brighter place, one employee story at a time!

The Stow-Munroe Falls High School Interact Club shared a wonderful slide show about their holiday project with all of us.  We were amazed and so very proud of the students.  They shared their hearts with 1,300 persons who received hand-addressed Christmas cards with special greetings and personalized artwork. The residents and caregivers in the Stow and Munroe Falls facilities LOVED being remembered during the holiday season.

We looked festive (ugly sweaters, goofy hats, bell necklaces, Santa hats, and Grinch attire!) as we gathered to share holiday stories about our favorite Christmas presents, cherished holiday traditions and beloved holiday songs.  The heart-filled stories reminded all of us of the closeness we share with one another.

Thank you, one and all, for being part of our final meeting in 2020.  Here's to the promise of an in-person holiday celebration in December 2021!!!

Hosts --- Please invite your speakers to learn more about Rotary!  Carrie, thank YOU for keeping everyone 'in the loop'.

AMAZON SMILES is a great way to provide donations to our Club's Foundation.  Christina Gary sent an e-mail to everyone describing the process for signing up for this program. Shop at smile.amazon.com and Amazon will donate 0.5% of eligible purchases to our Rotary Foundation—no fees, no extra cost. Remember, this program is active at AMAZON SMILES, not the 'regular' Amazon website. The process is easy --- use your phone, computer, laptop, whatever makes you happy!  Just shop, shop, shop!  Thanks!
