Our Speaker this week is John Schluep who will talk to us about A Warrior's Journey.

 

Seeking New Board Members: The Club has three Board positions we are now accepting nominations for. You may nominate yourself or another member. Each position is for a three year term and will commence July 1st, 2020. It is important for our club to have a strong Board to help drive positive change and help continue to move the club forward. You must be a member in good standing. Please give all nominations to current President, Carrie Leising by November 30th.

 

Rotary Shirts: Steve Dunton and Suzanne Garrett have been working on new shirts for our club.  On November 13 they will have a sign-up sheet available.  Tee shirts will be screen printed at a cost of $11.00 and will say "Service Above Self"  on the back.  White or blue golf shirts or sweatshirts will have the logo embroidered on them.  Men's golf shirts in small through 3X will be $30.00.  Size 4X will be $35.00.  Ladies' golf shirts are $30.  Sweatshirts will be available for $37.00.  Payment must be made as the shirts are ordered.  Checks should be payable to The Rotary Club of Stow-Munroe Falls.

 

Veteran's Day Program: We are seeking a volunteer to head up our Veteran's Day program for next year. Tom Bahr will be happy to help ,but needs to take a step back. Please see Carrie Leising if you are interested.

 

Bulldog Bags - November's item for our club to collect is boxes of cereal. Bring your donation to the club meetings or drop it of in the collection box at City Hall.

 

The Rotary Foundation is recognized as one of the most effective and well-managed charitable organizations in the world, with 12 consecutive four-star ratings from Charity Navigator and an A-plus rating from CharityWatch. November is Rotary Foundation Month and through the end of the year we will be focusing on a Foundation drive.

 

 

In order for our Club to qualify for grants we HAVE to have a average donation of $35 per Rotarian for our Club. Our stretch goal has always been $100 per Rotarian. That would be $6000 this year. We were able to achieve that last year!! But bigger than us is all of the good our donations help to do in our country and world! Clean water projects, education and literacy, community economic development, disease prevention and treatment and so much more! Please help us achieve our goals!

 

 

As you donate to the Foundation, your donations accumulate towards earning a Paul Harris Fellow. Paul Harris is the founder of the Foundation and when you reach $1000 in total giving you are recognized as a Paul Harris Fellow. For each $1000 given there after, you get a +1, +2, and so on. We are lucky enough to have a Paul Harris +9 in our Club!! Thank you Ron Taggert! Your dedication to the betterment of our country and world is amazing! Dick Hall has shared with each of our Rotarian's where they are in their Paul Harris journey's. Please see Dick if you have not received your paper.

 

 

Bring a check to meeting made Payable to: Rotary Foundation and give it to Dick Hall or you can go to rotary.org/donate and make a one time donation or set yourself up for recurring payments. (my preferred method of donating )

 

 

 

Salvation Army Bell Ringing: We will ring at Acme in Stow the Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend and then the first three Saturdays in December. Once I have the list of volunteers they will be here for your reference. If you can not make your shift, please contact Tom Bahr at 330-636-1284 or BAHR_50@yahoo.com.

 

Last we Pinned Christine Faranda!! She is an Attorney-Partner with the Amer Cunningham Co. LPA firm, specializing in employment law. She lives in Stow. We are so excited she is now a Rotarian! The Lefty's table were her sponsor and very happy to stand up with her. Welcome Jennifer!
