Speaking of social, every month with a 5th Wednesday, we replace our morning meeting with a social gathering in the evening.
A friendly reminder to all new members with blue sheets, our board meeting is the second Friday of every month. Our next meeting is Friday April 10, 2026 at City Hall at 7:15 am. All members are welcome.

Malin spoke to us about Resolve.Org who is helping families deal with fertility issues and provide hope in the journey. A walk is planned for April 25th at the Akron Zoo to raise both awareness and funds for the organization. Teams can be formed and all are encouraged to participate.
We have a team for the Walk of Hope on April 25th! Maria Ferrara can provide further details about it.
If people can't make the walk, there is a virtual walker option as well as just donating without participating.
Danielle Nastase (Hilliard, Ohio) and Lindsey have been invited to speak with members of Congress May 11-13th in Washington, DC. They are responsible for travel expenses so They are looking for sponsorship to cover lodging:
On Wednesday, March 18th Senior Survivor will begin at the high school. Interact students will be raising money for the District Interact Project of partnering with Fostering Hope in Solon. They will provide Journey Bags for the children. SMF Interact is collecting infant sleeper sacks and Onesies to be brought to the District Conference Youth Luncheon on April 25th. We need to be able to provide significant support to our Interact students and thank them for their help and achievements. BRING YOUR CHECKBOOK OR CASH TO THE MEETING ON WEDNESDAY MORNING TO DONATE TO THEIR GOAL. A QR code will also be available for credit card donations. The link below can be used as well.
I would like to thank Pilar Parsons and the other members who participated in the Foodie Palooza recent event. We received a ‘Thank you’ from the Stow-Munroe Falls Community Foundation for our support and participation in the event. Approximately 1,500 people were in attendance and the event received a lot of positive feedback. Proceeds from the event help the Stow and Munroe Falls Communities by funding teacher grants in the SMF School District, New Strider Balance Bike Program and community projects such as SKIP, Helping Hands and the new Amphitheatre in Stow.
It's that time of year when we have to recognize Board members for their service and then nominate and elect new Board members. At the end of June, 3 members will be ending their terms and new members are needed. Those members are Annette Oborn, Dick Hall, and John Pribonic. It was decided that a nominating committee was really not needed, so, we are looking at the members to step up and proclaim your interest at being a member of the Board of Directors. This is a great way to participate and learn more about our club. If you would like to be considered for a position to be a Board member, let us know so that you may be considered and your name presented in a formal nomination.
Tentatively, April 22nd meeting will be the day for the elections to be held. Floor nominations and seconds will be accepted through the meeting on April 15th. This is a great way to serve the club and be an integral part of the process.
Please consider participating in the grant training tonight of on the 21st. Reach out to Patrick Scherer with the Hudson Club to get accepted into the event for Wednesday evening. We need as many qualified members as possible.
It is hard to imagine that a year has gone by and the Grant Training Seminars are being offered. It is mandatory that 2 members of the Club participate in the seminars. The particulars can be found on the District website with a link for the final training session on Saturday, March 21st at 9:30am-11:30am.
Our Club has just completed a successful grant for the 2025-2026 year with the golf simulator for the field house at the High School. Our club members have been generous enough in the past that we also are eligible for the 2026-2027 Rotary year as well. We need to have the 2 members attend the training and have a good idea for a worthwhile project that will support the community and fit into one of the 7 areas of Rotary Focus.

The Special Note this week is that we need host families to help with the Rotary Youth Exchange program.
Please think about the Club's Foundation and what you would like to do in order to provide a legacy for future generations of Rotarians. I believe that it is important for us to consider a capital campaign to build a nest egg that can be grown for the future. Our club founders had a dream 46 years ago for the club and it has prospered over the years.
Soon, a survey will be presented to the members of the club to direct our future endeavors for the club. Please watch your email over the next few weeks and participate when you receive it.
