Holiday Party: This year's Holiday Party will be on December 18 during our regular meeting.  We will be playing the Left/Right Game so everyone should bring a small, wrapped or bagged gift with a value of up to $15. Guests are welcome, Santa is coming and we will have an omelet bar.  Be sure to sign up if you are coming and the number of guests you will bring.

Seeking New Board Members: The Club has three Board positions we are now accepting nominations for. You may nominate yourself or another member. Each position is for a three year term and will commence July 1st, 2020. It is important for our club to have a strong Board to help drive positive change and help continue to move the club forward. You must be a member in good standing. Please give all nominations to current President, Carrie Leising by November 30th.

Rotary Shirts:  LAST CALL FOR SHIRTS!! I know its Winter, but the t-shirts will be great for summer and we need more people to order them to get the best price! Steve Dunton and Suzanne Garrett have been working on new shirts for our club.  On November 13 they will have a sign-up sheet available.  Tee shirts will be screen printed at a cost of $11.00 and will say "Service Above Self"  on the back.  White or blue golf shirts or sweatshirts will have the logo embroidered on them.  Men's golf shirts in small through 3X will be $30.00.  Size 4X will be $35.00.  Ladies' golf shirts are $30.  Sweatshirts will be available for $37.00.  Payment must be made as the shirts are ordered.  Checks should be payable to The Rotary Club of Stow-Munroe Falls.

Veteran's Day Program: We are seeking a volunteer to head up our Veteran's Day program for next year. Tom Bahr will be happy to help ,but needs to take a step back. Please see Carrie Leising if you are interested.

Bulldog Bags - December's item is Multigrain Bars (NO NUTS!). Bring your donation to the club meetings or drop it of in the collection box at City Hall.

Speakers - We continue to look for dynamic speakers so we can make our meetings fun and informative! Please give your suggestions to Annie Hanson.

Tabs for Ronald McDonald House - Save the pop and beer can tabs for Ronald McDonald House and bring them to Don Coughlin at any meeting.
Rotary Foundation Month
The Rotary Foundation is recognized as one of the most effective and well-managed charitable organizations in the world, with 12 consecutive four-star ratings from Charity Navigator and an A-plus rating from CharityWatch. November is Rotary Foundation Month and through the end of the year we will be focusing on a Foundation drive.

WHY Donate?

In order for our Club to qualify for grants we HAVE to have a average donation of $35 per Rotarian for our Club. Our stretch goal has always been $100 per Rotarian. That would be $6000 this year. We were able to achieve that last year!! But bigger than us is all of the good our donations help to do in our country and world! Clean water projects, education and literacy, community economic development, disease prevention and treatment and so much more! Please help us achieve our goals!

Paul Harris Fellow:

As you donate to the Foundation, your donations accumulate towards earning a Paul Harris Fellow. Paul Harris is the founder of the Foundation and when you reach $1000 in total giving you are recognized as a Paul Harris Fellow. For each $1000 given there after, you get a +1, +2, and so on. We are lucky enough to have a Paul Harris +9 in our Club!! Thank you Ron Taggert! Your dedication to the betterment of our country and world is amazing! Dick Hall has shared with each of our Rotarian's where they are in their Paul Harris journey's. Please see Dick if you have not received your paper.

HOW to Donate?

Bring a check to meeting made Payable to: Rotary Foundation and give it to Dick Hall or you can go to rotary.org/donate and make a one time donation or set yourself up for recurring payments. (my preferred method of donating smiley)

City of Stow Update
John began by inviting everyone to a Community Dinner on December 14 at City Hall from 4:00-7:00 p.m..  It w\ill feature spaghetti and meatballs from The Tavern in Stow who are donating the food.  If you wish to make a donation, donations will be accepted but for anyone who needs a meal, they will be a guest.  This is to bring people from all over the community together.

He also discussed how there is a task force in place to discuss suicide in our community and to see how we might address the problem.

John then introduced Samantha Booth from the Impact Group, a PR/Marketing agency who has been working on a new brand for Stow.  The 3 second message of the brand is "Tradition Centered, Future Focused".  She explained that is a brand that can be used to describe the city in only 3 seconds.  There are also 3 minute and 30 second messages depending on the amount of attention people will give to the message.  The re-branding will be obvious over the next 12 to 18 months through all kinds of communication from the city.
