I can almost hear the groaning as some of our "seasoned" members read this! I know you all have grown fond of the table you sit at and the people you sit with, but it is time to expand and make some new tablemates. We are growing and that is fantastic!! But that also means we need to add another table. I NEED YOUR HELP!!! Don't be that person!! The person that refuses to help us expand and won't help spread out our seating to accommodate our growth. I am calling on you to be a change agent and be willing to make a new table, your table. Those that step up may even be rewarded!! "Let him that would move the world, first move himself." - Socrates (Shameless, I know. )

DECA Judges Needed!!: Stow High's DECA club is in need of judges for their spring competition on Wednesday, January 29, at Kent State University. It is a really good time and impressive to lesten to these young up and coming leaders. Ronald McDonald House: Our next date to prepare a mean is Friday, January 31st, 3pm-5pm. If you are interested in helping to prepare a mean for the families, please let Bob Oborn know.

 

40th Anniversary Celebration: If you have pictures from the last forty years, please share them with us!! Carrie Leising or Steve Dunton will collect them, make a copy and return them to you.

 

Veteran's Day Program: We are seeking a volunteer to head up our Veteran's Day program for next year. Tom Bahr will be happy to help, but needs to take a step back. Please see Carrie Leising if you are interested.

 

Bulldog Bags - January's item is FRUIT SNACKS. Bring your donation to the club meetings or drop it of in the collection box at City Hall.

 

The Stow-Munroe Falls School teachers had some pretty big smiles on their faces Friday morning as they shopped for supplies for their classrooms. I heard several comments that it was like Christmas for them. Thank you so much to those that took time out of their busy schedules to help us load and unload the supplies. Thank you also to John Pribonic, for letting us know the teachers had need and for organizing. It was a great day!!

 

 

 

 

 

Dave Renniger was our Announcer last week and he did a great job! Annette lead us in singing to Shannon Sinex for her birthday and then Dave told a joke about getting old. 

 

We welcomed Mella Castner and Jim Redmond last week as our speakers. Mella gave us some background on the Akron Rotary Camp which until 1995 was run entirely by Akron Rotary volunteers! In 1995 the partnered with the YMCA. The Akron Rotary Camp for Children with Special Needs, in cooperation with the Akron Area YMCA, offers children and adults with disabilities, the opportunity to experience all the friendship, fun and excitement of camp. Campers experience a nurturing and enriching atmosphere where they develop relationships, skills and memories that will last a lifetime. 

 

Since 2010 they have raised more than $6 million to upgrade and improve the camp. This year hey will add Adventure Park which will help campers "do the impossible". Part of their mission is that they b=never allow money to get in the way of a child's ability to attend camp. Cue, Jim Redmond who tols us about the upcoming Chili Open on Saturday Februaury 1st at Hale Farm and Village from 9am - 4pm.
