Veteran's Day Program - Veterans' Day observance will be on Wednesday November 6 at Stow Glen at 7:15 a.m.  and will be our regular meeting.  Please sign up if you plan to attend or bring a guest.

 

Bulldog Bags - October's item for our club to collect is pudding cups.  Either bring your donation to the club meetings or drop it of in the collection box at City Hall.

 

Great program lat week as Patrick Bravo, Executive Director of the Summit County Land Bank spoke to us about the creation and purpose of the land bank. The purpose of the land bank is to deal with abandoned, blighted and tax-delinquent properties.  It could mean that they would demolish, rehab, sell or obtain a grant to manage the properties' outcome.  Mr. Bravo showed us many pictures of the way the land bank has improved neighborhoods through their mission.  The average demolition costs around $15,000. Impressively, the land bank is entirely self sustaining and manages their budget extremely well. Thank you Patrick for your time and information!!

 

 

Last week we pinned Jennifer Coleman as a new member. Jenny works as a scientist/pathologist with the Cleveland Clinic and is the Mom of a nine-year-old daughter. We are very excited to have her!
