**MEETINGS ARE SUSPENDED UNTIL APRIL 15TH!**

A lot can happen in 24 hours let alone 4 days. The COVID-19 virus is an ever evolving situation and I believe will continue to be for a while. We are in uncertain times and it is easy to panic and feel anxious. These are normal responses and I want you to know it's OK be worried. I also want you to know that you have a built in support system through Rotary and there are people who care and are ready to help. We do not need to panic. We need to reach out to our fellow Rotarian's, friends, and neighbors for help if you need it or to offer help, if they need it. Many in our Club are ready and willing to be there and we need to keep in touch with each other. I implore you to not lose yourselves in the doomsday rhetoric, but to practice safe, social distancing and the attitude of it's better to be safe than sorry. Think positive, be positive and share positive.

I shared an email on Friday, but am sending it out again below.

We find ourselves in unprecedented times with the fast spreading outbreak of the COVID-19 virus. I told my children yesterday that this is their 9/11. A time they will never forget, a time they will be telling their children and grandchildren about. A time we all will never forget.

The health and safety of our members is of utmost importance to me, our Board, and Rotary. At our Board Meeting this morning we discussed at length what we should do to protect our members and fulfill our 4-Way Test. Our conclusion is the following:

The only way to truly put our members first and protect them is to suspend all meetings. As of now, our next meeting as a Club will be April 15, 2020. As a Board we will be meeting again on April 8th, to assess COVID-19's spread and impact and decide if we need to extend the suspension further.

At this time, all other Club events will proceed forward. Interact Dinner April 22nd, Hero's Day May 16th, 40th Celebration May 20th, and so on are all still on. The Easter Egg Hunt has been moved to Aprill 11th and we still need our volunteers. You can reference our calendar on my weekly emails for a list of all events.

Food Bank is one that is up in the air, but I believe will need our help with so many children off school without access to food on a regular basis. Look to hear from Dave Renninger for more information.

If any of our members need help with going to the store or other tasks, please also reach out to me and we will find a way to assist. This is what we do as Rotarian's in time of uncertainty and need. We come together to support each other.

I want to thank you all for your understanding and ask that if you have any questions or concerns to reach out to me personally.

Yours in Service,

Carrie Leising

Boy Scouts of America
I filled in as our announcer this week! Brad Ruth and Don Greenleaf have birthdays, but must have been out celebrating because neither of them were there. I announces a couple in our Club was having an Anniversary and Bob Oborn panicked, but he is OK, because it is actually Kelly and Lisa Toppin's 26th Wedding Anniversary. Congrats! FINALLY the lawyers table did not have the winning ticket!! Ray Evan's table did, but they didn't pull the joker so the pot will continue to grow!

John Pribonic, was our host this week, he introduced Jack Johnson, a Director at Boy Scouts of American and also President of the Hudson Clocktower Club!

This year is the 110th year of the Boy Scouts of America. A lot has changed over the years, but so much is still the same. Boy Scouts now allows females and they have both boy and girl troops. Many families were pressed for time and often times there were girls attending meetings with their brothers doing many of the projects and work with none of the reward, so to accommodate these families and help they began to encompass everyone.

Boy Scouts have been investing in their camps to help support their new scouts and making all sorts of improvements. Jake explained how special being an Eagle Scout is and that it is designed that way. Eagle Scouts = More Work = More Success! Some famous Scouts are Buzz Aldrin, Neil Armstrong, Hank Aaron, Mark Spitz, Martin Luther King Jr., Jon Bon Jovi, Steven Spielberg,  JFK, and Bill Gates. Thank you Jake for sharing!!

Twice as Nice!!
How lucky are we that we have not only one fantastic Toppin as a Rotarian, but two!! Thank you, Kelly and Lisa, for  stepping into so many vital roles within our club. Interact liaison, teacher supply closet, golf outing, and more!! Words can not express my gratitude in all that you do to support our club!  You both are the absolute bestest!!
