Beer Pouring Opportunity: Annie reminded the club to let her know if you are willing to pour beer at the Community Foundation's Craft Beer Festival at Heritage Barn on Saturday, October 6. The two shifts will be from 5:30 to 7:30 and from 7:30 to 9:30. Pourers will be fed but to taste the beer, the cost is $40.00. Contact Annie at achanson129@gmail.com if you are able to help. This would be a fund raiser for our club.
Board Meeting: Our Board Meeting will be this Friday, September 14 at the library at 7:15 a.m. Board members are expected to attend but everyone else is welcome. Minutes of the August meeting are attached to this newsletter.
Family Movie Night: Annie reminded us that we are one of the sponsors for the Stow-Munroe Falls Family Movie Night which will feature "The Incredibles" this Saturday, September 15. The movie will be shown at the green space next to City Hall. Bring chairs or blankets for the evening that starts at 7:00. Join the fun!
Veterans' Day: Annie thanked Tom Bahr for agreeing to chair this year's program on November 7. More information will be available soon. On that day we will meet at Stow-Glen instead of at Silver Lake Country Club.
PROGRAM: This morning Annie led us in a Club Assembly. Participants had a chance to gather in groups to discuss the following topics and capture the ideas on chart paper.
1. The best way to encourage attendance.
2. If we had a spare $10,000 what would we do with it?
3. How do we encourage participation in Rotary Foundation giving?
4. What could the club do to show appreciation to its members?
5. Is there a new service project that we could be doing?
6. Is there a way to adjust our recruitment plans?
7. If there a new fundraiser we might think of doing?
There were to be no barriers to our discussion, no "yes buts" and no limitations.
