HAPPY BUCK:
Marty Tass told us that the Stow Munroe Falls Community Foundation will hold their annual Beer Fest on Oct.2nd from 2:00 to 5:00 at the Stow Heritage Barn.  Ten breweries will be represented and since they are not permitted to serve their own beer, Marty would like to recruit 2 pourers from the club. The Foundation will donate $50 for each person to our Rotary club.  Contact Marty at marty@hkbent.com to let him know that you can help.

CELEBRATION:
Birthday: Today is Marv Mills' birthday.

50/50 RAFFLE:  Linda Trevorrow's table had the winning ticket, but pulled the 3 of spade

ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Bulldog Bags: For September, the Bulldog Bag collection items are either cups of macaroni and cheese or fruit cups.  The personal care item is hand sanitizer.  Since we will not meet in person until next month, please drop your items off in the container near the receptionist's desk at City Hall.

Interact:  Advisor, Dinah Henderson, had several exciting things to share.  Elections have been held and all six officers will attend the Rotary training this Saturday. Members are asked to sign-up for 1 event per month, and if they bring a friend, they will double their service hours.

At last Friday's football game they sold cotton candy and made about $600 in two hours.  It was such a success that they have requested a second machine.

Dinah thanked the Rotarians for donating $200 for their Homecoming float.  Now they need candy to distribute,  help in decorating, and Rotarians to ride on the float with the students.  If you did not have a chance to volunteer this morning, contact Dinah at St_henderson@smfcsd.org to let her know how you can help.  If you donate candy, the students can pick it up from you. The float will be housed in the service building behind the post office and in back of the salt, starting next Monday.  Decorating will happen between 2:45 and 5:00 in the afternoon next week.

Dinah also explained that thanks to Carrie and the Teacher Supply Closet, all of the new teachers at the high school received care packages.

Ronald McDonald House:  Our turn to prepare a meal for Ronald McDonald House will be next Wednesday, September 22nd.  Carrie Leising needs two more volunteers who can help from 3:00-5:00 on that day.  Contact her at cleising23@gmail.com.

Reverse Raffle/Silent Auction:  Annette Oborn strongly encouraged the members to purchase tickets for the Reverse Raffle.  If you let her know how many tickets you need at aoborn@att.net or by phone at 330-689-0485, she will get them to you.  You can then send the stub and your money back to her in the self-addressed stamped envelope that she will provide.  Remember to make your checks payable to the Stow Munroe-Falls Rotary Foundation.

Christina Gary explained that for the Silent Auction, the committee will put together several large prizes.  Please donate money to her at 2356 Shade Park Dr., Akron, OH 44333.  We will not meet in person again until Oct. 6, so it is important to get that money to her now.

Football Pool:    Pat Messmore told us that there have already been many winners in our Football Pool. Rotarians who have won so far are:  Steve Stimmel, Andy Denton and Bruce Redmon.

Summer Sunset Blast:  Steve Dunton said that this year was the most successful 50/50 Raffle that the club has hosted.  The pot grew to $2270 with the club and the winner, each receiving $1135.  Steve's efforts were very much appreciated but he thanked Mary Dula, for working two shifts and Dave Renninger, Jenny Coleman, Andy Denton, Tom Loepp. Annette Oborn, Marty Tass, Steve Stimmel, Gail Moseley, Scott Miller and Lisa and Kelly Toppin for taking shifts.  The crowd was wonderful!

FOODBANK:  Our next time to volunteer at the Foodbank will be Wednesday, October 6 from 4:30 to 6:30.  Let Mary Dula know if you can help at 330-715-6358.

BOARD MINUTES:  The minutes of last Friday's Board Meeting are attached to these minutes.

WEEKLY MINUTES:  I will be out of town next week and unable to do the weekly meeting minutes. If you are willing to do them, please let John Pribonic or Brad Ruth know.

PROGRAM:  Jenny Coleman introduced Judge Katarina Cook of the Summit County Court of Common Pleas, Domestic Relations Division.  She is the Administrative Judge.  Judge Cook is a graduate of Firestone High School and received her JD from the University of Akron.  She has four sons and is also a Master Gardener.

She explained that every county in Ohio does different things with their Domestic Relations Court.  In Summit County divorce, dissolution, parentage, legal custody and visitation for parents and third parties are the court's responsibilities.  Custody was formerly a part of the Juvenile Court system but has moved to Domestic Relations.  In addition, Judge Cook has established a Family Recovery Court Program which is a voluntary program that provides parents a support framework when dealing with the effects of chemical dependency and/or mental health issues.  They had their first graduation last week.

When there are children involved in divorce or dissolution situation, the parents must complete a seminar called "Remember the Children".  It reminds the adults to remember the unintended victims, the children.  Because of COVID and people not being permitted to come together in person, a webinar was developed.  It is a required, 3-hour course with each session lasting 45 minutes.  To find out more information about Domestic Relations Court in Summit County, go to www.drcourt.org.

JOKE:  Christina gave us a wonderful joke about a new movie.  She will be glad to tell you the rest of it.    Next week's joke will be by Mark Ferguson.
