Medina County Health Department's Jessica Miles, the Emergency Preparedness Planner & Medical Reserve Corps Coordinator, welcomed Medina Sunrise Rotary, the Ohio Army & Air National Guard, and Boy Scouts of America to a special Community Forum on Emergency Planning.

"Medina County Health Department is working in close partnership with national, state, local organizations, and trained volunteers to prepare and respond effectively to hazards and disasters which may affect our community," stated Ms. Miles. "'Coming together and caring together,' in this Community Forum on Emergency Preparedness, we are building an inclusive 'Functional Needs Plan' that addresses the needs of citizens in Medina County who have unique support requirements in times of crisis, such as: the physically and mentally disabled, those without access to transportation or working knowledge of English, pregnant mothers and children, the elderly and homeless, and those with acute medical conditions."

The health, safety, and support of our community is an inclusive mission for all of us at the Medina County Health Department. Are you interested in helping?
