Tiger Bag Program
Aug. 18, 2020 12:00 p.m.
Moment of Inspiration: Lisa Cotes Happy Bucks: George Feltovich What is the Cuyahoga Falls Community-Wide Tiger Bag Program? It is a program that started at Silver Lake School 5 years ago and has grown to other buildings in different forms. Our Tiger Bag Program is now open to ALL Cuyahoga Falls City School students from K-12. We offer “Tiger Bags” every Friday that include 2 breakfast, 2 lunch, and 2 dinners. We continue to receive monetary donations that help us to purchase food from the Akron-Canton Food Bank. During this pandemic, this program provides food, cleaning products, personal hygiene products and animal food for families in the community. |

Your Fellowship Committee, led by Bob Heydorn, is planning to host the annual family picnic at the Wyoga Lake Park this year. Living in a COVID-19 world, the picnic will most likely not look like it did in the past. The event will follow social distancing guidelines, mask mandates and use of universal precaution to ensure everyone's safety. That does not mean we can't enjoy the sun, have a nice dinner and see each other’s smiling faces for the first time in a while!

"The Good Stuff"
Sep. 01, 2020 12:00 p.m.
Dawn Kendrick is the creator of The Good Stuff by Dawn, a multi-media platform for storytelling about people and events with the intent to educate, inspire, and encourage people to pay it forward. They are stories and speaking engagements built on the foundation of “Together We Can. Together We Will.” A mantra instilled by her father, it now extends to the growing Good Stuff Family from Cleveland and beyond. It is a phenomenal cast of characters rising up with their own stories of compassion, charity and strength. Most recently, Dawn worked as a reporter for NBC’s Channel 3 News where she conceptualized The Good Stuff, producing exclusive stories with a signature style of storytelling on the 11PM newscasts. Her stories have been picked up by multiple national media outlets including NBC Nightly News and USA Today. She is a proud graduate of the University of Missouri School of Journalism. Dawn is an active supporter throughout Northeast Ohio for programs designed to better the lives of individuals and of entire communities. Some of her recent projects include Ohio Innocence Project, Super Heroes To Kids In Ohio, PAWS, A Special Wish Cleveland and most recently the Medina County Women’s Endowment Fund. |

So many choices… In-person classes, online classes, and hybrid options. Our two school districts have taken different paths. We’ll hear from both school district superintendents as they share their rationale and talk about how things are going so far and their thoughts on what’s ahead. https://www.cfalls.org/News/15694#sthash.wqoX4WLL.dpbs https://woodridge.k12.oh.us/apps/news/show_news.jsp?REC_ID=649730&id=0 |

Cultural Social Justice and Inclusion
Sep. 15, 2020 12:00 p.m.
We’ll be continuing our monthly efforts on the topic of Social Inclusion as we hear from Pastor Tom on the topics of Social Justice and Cultural Bias. His Church is located on State Road and is non-denominational. Pastor Tom travels often to Ukraine to work among the Roma (Gypsy) people there and also to India to help train and equip young pastors. His spiritual passions include evangelism and worship. Tom believes that America's problems cannot be solved through politics or political parties. Instead, America is in desperate need of revival. His prayer is, "Come, again, Lord Jesus, in the power of your Holy Spirit." |

Fellow Rotarians: Our annual project helping to clean-up the Cuyahoga River is an ideal event for the age of Covid. It's outside and there is lots of space to social distance. You can even work in you're own bubble if you desire. The city is not sponsoring its usual event this year on National Public Lands Day (September 26), but Becky McCleary welcomes our leadership in taking on some of the responsibility. The city will provide the equipment (gloves, pickers, bags, etc.). All you have to do is show up at Water Works Park, Little Stone Shelter, at 9:00 a.m.. All Falls Rotary Club members, Interact members, and guests are welcome. While much smaller and less elaborate than the city's event, it is still important work that needs to be done. Stay as long as you'd like; leave when you want to. My best guess is that it will take two hours or less. Please let me know if you plan to attend so we can bring enough equipment. Kevin Rosswurm |
