New Member! Welcome Chelsea Talty
The Chesterland News published a wonderful article about our newest member!  A link to the original article follows at the bottom of this article.

West Geauga Interact has become a force for good throughout the community. Over the last decade, the Interact group has enabled hundreds and hundreds of West Geauga students to combine their efforts to make a difference in the world. When Chelsea (nee Arnold) Talty was a junior at West G, the Interact club was formed under the sponsorship of the Chesterland Rotary Club. Chelsea was the club’s first vice president.

After graduation, she attended Hiram College and started a Rotaract club, the college version of Interact and Rotary. Her heart for service now continues as a West Geauga Spanish teacher, senior and junior class advisor and the teacher advisor for WG Interact.

The Interact club, is the largest club at West G and does dozens of community service events, raising thousands of dollars for charities each year. Currently, Interact has started the annual West G food drive where the club in past years has collected as many as 18,000 cans of food for Geauga food banks. This week, Chelsea Talty was inducted into full membership with the Chesterland Rotary Club.

Rotary’s motto is “Service above Self” and Chelsea Tatly certainly live that motto each day as she pours her life into the community.

When you see her, thank her for her caring and for being such an incredible role model for the students.

WInterfest 2015
Winterfest - perfect night for lighting the tree and the park. Attendees
enjoyed hot chocolate, hot cider and fresh popped popcorn, listening to the
Girl Scouts sing and the Singers from the Christian Center in their Victorian
outfits as the waited for Santa to appear. A warm bon fire added to the
excitement and in anticipation of the jolly old man in his red suite walking
down the walkway which was illuminated by the boy scouts, luminaries.  Skipper
was busy posing for pictures.

A big thank you to Danny Boys, Chester Rental, Giant Eagle, Maple Leaf,
Perennial Gardner's, Imperial Tree Service and  The  Chesterland News, who
all contributed to this annual event.

Chesterland Rotary could not have done it without the support that was given.

Breakfast with Santa Update

We are pretty much up to speed with preparations.  We have the food arranged, the presents are in hand (being wrapped today by the Girl Scouts), Rudolph and Class Act are lined up, all the posted jobs have been filled with volunteers, the signs are up in the community, the flyers distributed, etc., etc.  What we need is a great turnout Fri. evening, Dec. 4, to decorate the cafeteria.
Shining Stars Update

Plans for Shining Stars 2016 are well underway. We are pleased to announce that band for this event will be  Light of Day Band.  We also have selected a new non-profit to partner with, Birth Right Geauga.  Former partners that will be participating again this year will include Emerald Rose and United Way Geauga.

It is that time of year to also begin asking companies and individuals for donations for our silent auction.  Donations are a critical part of our fund raising effort.
Save the Date!!!  February 20, 2015, at St. Noel in Willoughby Hills, Ohio.
