NEXT WEEK'S MEETING (8.22.12) IS AT WELSHFIELD

A big THANK YOU to Al and Iola Skinner and the rest of the family picnic committee for a great gathering on the 15th!

Heads & Tails winner:  Jim Dvorak.

Thank you's were received from Ethel Wilcox, who was invited but could not attend the family picnic, and from John Rose who thouroghly enjoyed his time at the picnic catching up with old friends.

Jim Dvorak reported that, at their request, junior high level dictionaries have been distributed to the Amish community.  The Amish are keeping the dictionaries in the classroom and they had enough of the elementary level dictionaries already.

Bob Varga's interview with Fred Bemberg:  Fred has been a member of BMR for 28 years.  His sponsor was Don Hayes.  Fred served the club as president in 1992.  Now retired, Fred was in the lumber business and later owned Trusco which manufactured wood trusses.  He said his favorite part about being a Rotarian is the comradery among the members and the community programs and projects that Rotary does.

An open discussion was had about what BMR can do to better promote our club and our projects in the community.  Sharon Gingerich, Mark Zakrzewski, and Chris Livers are going to get together and form our first marketing committee to find ways to help the club better use social media, local newspapers, etc. to the club's advantage.

PROGRAM 8.22.12:  Look Good...Feel Better.  Mary Beth Wantz and Amy Marsch.
