Program:

Rick Deshant represented the Greater Cleveland Fisher House fundraising campaign.  Fisher houses are places where family members of injured veterans can stay while the veteran is undergoing medical treatment at nearby VA clinics and affiliated hospitals.  Fisher Houses allow family members to stay near their loved one at no cost and benefit from a support network of families of other injured veterans.  Rick explained the history of Fisher Houses across the nation (there are 58 throughout the US) and indicated that Cleveland's VA clinic is the largest in the nation that does not have a Fisher House.  Cleveland's VA Clinic also is ranked #1 in the naton in each of its 8 "centers of excellence."

Cost to build the Fisher house will be approximately $7 million and will be able to house 25-30 families at a time.  $3 million must be raised locally and the Fisher Foundation will provide the remainder of the needed funding.   The Greater Cleveland Fisher House is a federally registered 501 c.3 organization and all donations are tax deductible by federal law.  To donate, checks should be made out to the Greater Cleveland Fisher House and sent to:
