PROGRAM - BaseTek Plant Tour

BaseTek was founded in 2001 and is located in a 12,000 square foot facility at Newbury Industrial Park.  BaseTek specializes in the manufacturing of polymer composite bases and filled weldments for a broad range of industries.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Our condolences to Rick Seyer, a former member of BMR, on the death of his wife Deborah on November 9th.  A memorial service will be held this Saturday, November 14th, at 1:00 PM at Cardinal Middle School, 14717 Thompson Avenue, Middlefield Ohio, 44062, with friends being received from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the school.

Bill Stute is now at Revere Hospital but is hoping to be home by the weekend.

Saturday, November 21st, we will be having a work project at the fairgrounds building starting at 8:30 AM.

The raffle for the truck was held Sunday at the Veterans' Memorial Dedication.  Jim Deely from Chardon won the truck and elected to keep it.  Tom Blair sold Jim the lucky ticket.  With the help of some corporate sponsorship, we are going to give almost $15,000 to the memorial as a result of the truck raffle.  A big thank you is owed to Pat Preston and Preston Auto for the donation of the truck.  In all, BMR projects have raised over $60,000 for the new Veterans' Memorial.

Salvation Army bell rining will be December 12th.  Sign up sheets were passed around at the meeting.  Brian Brockway noted that last year in Geauga County $25,104.30 was spent of the money the Rotary Clubs of our cluster collected and that money benefited 1064 people.  He also wanted to make sure that the membership gives to the Salvation Army through our club only, otherwise our club does not get credit for the donation and the money will most likely be spent outside of Geauga County. 

The Garrettsville/Hiram Club will be having their reverse raffle soon.  Please see Mike Pesek if you have interest in attending.

There will be a board meeting after our regular meeting on November 18th.

The Chagrin Valley Rotary Club is having their Water for Life Holiday Celebration fundraiser on Saturday, November 14 from 6-10 PM at Lowe's Greenhouse and Gift Shop which is located at 16540 Chillicothe Road in Chagrin Falls.  Tickets are $75/each.  There will be wine tasting, holiday decorations, and silent and Chineese auctions.  The honoray event chair will be Diana Munz, a 2000 Olympic gold medalist swimmer who is from Chagrin Falls.  Please contact Mark at 440-543-5520 for more information.
