On Wednesday, November 29, 2017, we started our meeting early to tour the Stephen Douglas Company in Newbury. Then we had dinner at Mangia Mangia also in Newbury.
At dinner, we had a short visit from Santa, who reminded us to not leave cheese for the reindeer.
Next we heard from Eagle Scout Rafe Proctor – Newbury Troop 99. Rafe described his eagle scout project which is an American flag retirement project for proper destruction of worn U.S. flags. This included renovating and painting a mail box and a pit to ceremonially burn worn flags. The Board approved a $400 donation toward Rafe's project.
