Most of these eve nts have food (of varying quality)\, drinks and some sort of entertainment (sometimes). Then all summer long there are golf outings and outdoor fund raisers. When the leaves start to turn and the air gets crisp\, there are clambakes and church dinners to attend and support. Each spring there are\ , in this area\, pancake breakfasts galore (Come to ours at Berkshire High School every Sunday in March\, except Easter). We have decided to do a du eling piano event that will be a fundraiser\, but more to the point it wil l be an opportunity for friends to get together and have a great time. The event will be held at the Erster Österreichischer Unterstützungs Verein (The First Austrian Mutual Aid Society) of Cleveland\, otherwise known as the E.O.U.V. Club in Newbury. If you have never had the opportunity to vi sit\, the location is beautiful and the food is amazing. Prepared fresh ea ch day\, the meal is served family style and there is always more food tha n can be eaten. Along with a great meal\, we will have Aces Wild Entertain ment Dueling Pianos at the event. If you have never been to a dueling pian o bar\, this will be a real treat. Dueling pianos (also known simply as "s ing-along") is a form of entertainment\, usually on stage with two grand p ianos\, each played by a professional player who sings and entertains\; hu mor and audience participation are prevalent. The artists work together th roughout the night\, taking audience requested songs. Generally\, tips are expected when a song request is made\, and priority may be given to a son g with a larger denomination bill. Upon a tip\, the players will often pla y the fight song of whatever college is requested too\, which often result s in bidding wars between alumni and students of various universities in a ttendance. Patrons can also request that an audience member be brought on stage. Generally\, this is to celebrate a birthday\, bachelorette party\, bachelor party\, anniversary\, or other occasion. The player then performs a "calldown" in which the participant (or participants) is embarrassed in a light-hearted fashion. Calldowns may be parodies of well known songs\, or simply original material intended to generate a reaction from the audie nce. The night is going to be both a great fundraiser for the Rotary Club of Burton-Middlefield Rotary\, helping to further the work we do in our co mmunity and in the world\, but will be a fun "date night."
