Doing Good in the World
The following is the report from District 6630 Annual Giving Chair, Michael P. Davanzo.
The foundation report for the month of January is in. Our district is making progress in reaching our goal of $160,00. As of this report we have contributed $89,653. On behalf of the district and all the people in our district and world community who will benefit from these donations, I do want to thank you for your generosity and continuing generosity.
As you probably have heard already, the district has offered another incentive for contributing to the Foundation. The incentives are:
1. PHF Drawing: Every D6630 Rotarian who is signed up for Rotary Direct will be eligible. If you are not signed up as of now, please do so. Visit our district web site, click on Foundation under the site pages and then click on TRF direct. If you have any question, please contact Mike Davanzo mdavanzo@zoominternet.net
2. EREY Clubs: Each Club that has 100% participation AND AN AVERAGE OF $100 PER MEMBER, at the end of June, will have the opportunity to present a PHF to a recipient of their choice. That can be a member of the club or someone from the community that they feel is deserving.
3. There is also a third incentive. This incentive is a requirement for a club to apply for a grant during the 2013-2014 Rotary Year. Any club that wishes to obtain a grant needs to average at least $10 per member to the Rotary Foundation.
By giving to the Rotary Foundation, a Rotarian becomes part of and contributes to the good works of Rotary International. A Rotarian may never go on a work mission to a foreign country, but by donating even $10, there is a $5 return to our district to help with local projects and a $5 donation to the Rotary Foundation which is used to help fund an international project. Thus, by a $10 donation, a Rotarian can take pride in the fact that he/she helped with an international project. Please make your contribution today. Thank you for your support of Our Foundation.
