The meeting was called to order by past president, Tom Craig. There were several guests in attendance, including our speaker, the Honorable Judge Joy Malek Oldfield. Fellow Rotarian and guest Jack Harig reminded club members of the upcoming Centennial Arch Klumph Celebration. He shared the celebration will include the induction of four new members to the Arch Klumph Society. The Arch Klumph Society recognizes persons donating $250,000 or more to the Rotary Foundation.
 
Tom shared the speaker portion of our meeting will be broadcast over Facebook Live on the Rotary Club of Barberton Facebook page. Ruth Kaser shared that we would be calling Guy's Party Center to advise the food count for the buffet dinner at our Reverse Raffle & Silent Auction. Todd Wallace shared there were still tickets available and urged members to get out and sell their tickets. Ruth also shared we are still in need of items for the Silent Auction. Silent Auction items can be dropped off to Jim Sawin at the Lake Anna YMCA or brought  to the South Ballroom at Guy's Party Center on October 20-the day of the event.
 
Our speaker was the Honorable Judge Joy Malek Oldfield. Judge Oldfield shared information regarding the Akron Municipal Drug Court and safe prescription disposal. The Drug Court Goals are : to reduce recidivism, enhance public safety, increase successful drug court completions, and increase participants who complete treatment. The community partners to the court include members of law enforcement, Summit County ADM Treatment Providers, and Judge Oldfield. Information regarding the safe disposal of prescription drugs was also distributed. The Barberton Police Department has a safe disposal box
