Nominations are now open (deadline November 21, 2022) for people we can celebrate at our next annual Voorhees Community Service Gala Awards Dinner, to be on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at Luciens Fine Catering in Berlin, NJ. We are looking for those special people we can celebrate. Also we invite you to become a sponsor.
Our Annual Community Service Awards Dinner is our flagship fundraiser, and an opportunity for all of us to come together and celebrate those deserving people who live in or serve the Voorhees community and whose actions have shown that they live by the Rotary motto “Service Above Self," in four categories. Our Club’s Community Service Awards dinner is one of the highlights of the year.
In past years, it has been a fun and welcoming gathering for the community, for Rotarians, and for friends and supporters of the awardees, with over 100 attendees at a premier location.
This year it will be held Thursday, March 9, 2023 at Luciens Fine Catering in Berlin, NJ.
Right now, we are looking for nominations in each of the following categories:
•Voorhees Citizen of the Year: Must be a Voorhees resident, however contributions and impact to society need not be limited to Voorhees Township.
•Voorhees Business Person of Year: Need NOT be a Voorhees resident, however he or she will be selected based on accomplishments within the Voorhees business community only.
•Voorhees First Responder of the Year: Need NOT be a Voorhees Township resident, however service area must primarily include Voorhees. Examples of candidates include Police, Fire, Rescue, EMT/Paramedic, Emergency Room personnel, or other "first responders".
•Voorhees Selfless Student of the Year: Must be either a high school student residing in Voorhees; OR a student attending Eastern High School. This award is given to a student representing service above self, kindness towards students in need, and a positive role model for the concept of caring about others in the high school they attend.
