A visit to Legacy OF The Plains

Our first meeting of the new year was held at the Legacy of the Plains Museum. The Scotts Bluff Country Club is closed for its yearly cleaning. Former president Karen Anderson presided over the meeting. We welcomed two Gering High seniors as our guests. Jefferson Lenor plans on attending W.N.C.C. and then go on to study accounting. Alex Duncan will study at U.N.K. and will study pre-med as a student of the R.H.O.P. program. There were a number of announcements. Megan Hayward invited everyone interested to attend the planning secession of the Gering Library. Rotary Gold will be held March 4th and will benefit Capstone. Each members will be issued four tickets in the hope they will sell two. Shelley Knutson gave us the address of Ryan Windhorst who is battling a life threating infection in Denver at Swedish Hospital. Our program was the Executive Director of the Legacy of the Plains Museum, Sandra Reddish. She gave a brief update on the progress of the museum. She recently attended museum director’s conference and our museum is becoming nationally known. It is 100% funded by donation and is non-profit. It needs area members to support it and buy memberships. She then let everyone look through the exhibits and see the progress. I must admit that it is impressive and very well done.
