CAPWN

There is only one student guest today. Brisa Rios is graduating from Scottsbluff High and plans on attending UNL and studying Biosystems and microbiology with the goal of becoming a Neurosurgeon.  President Downey had many announcements today.  The Scottsbluff Star Herald has committed to running a series of articles about our club in celebration of our 100th anniversary. Zach Karpf announced that the club is sponsoring a matching funds program for those Rotarians contributing to their Paul Harris Fellow. This is open to all members, those who are working on their first Paul Harris Fellow to those who are contributing to their second or third.  Our program today is Colleen Shoemaker who is here to tell us about Community Action Partnership of Western Nebraska (CAPWN). CAPWN provides many services with the hope of providing help to those who need it and not to enable. A few of the services include medical, dental, behavior health services, family stabilization, food band, youth services, Women/infant/children (WIC), grandparent program, V.A. outreach and the migrant program. May of the programs are based on a sliding fee scale.
