The State Chamber

We welcome two student guests. Emily Ostick is a senior at S.H.S. and hopes to double major in Dance and Marketing. Danica Atkinson is a senior at G.H.S. and plans on studying nursing with the hopes of becoming a neonatal nurse. There were many announcements; the club is looking for volunteers for the Monument Marathon finish line and also to help plant trees at the Alan Landers Soccer Complex, which is our centennial project cofounded with the district. George Schlothauer invited everyone to the business afterhours at the Legacy of the Plains Museum, where the exhibits are nearing completion. Our program today is Barry Kennedy and Jamie Karl with the Nebraska State Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Mr. Kennedy spoke first on the issues they were involved in last year. Mr. Karl presented some statics which compared Nebraska to the remaining states in there friendliness to business and the ability to attract new business to the state.
