New WNCC Men's Basketball Coach

Thank you to Dr. Holcomb for presiding over the meeting while president Zac was away. Also thank you George Schlothauer for playing piano. Our program today was new head basketball coach for the men’s W.N.C.C. Cougar Basketball team, Cory Fehringer. Coach Fehringer was hired last month and had little to say about the team, but was willing to share his plans for the future of the team and some of his preliminary hopes for the future. He hopes to recruit hard working and hard playing recruits for the team, and continue the established tradition. He hasn’t yet met the returning players, but is pleased with what he knows so far. He stressed the need for the community involvement with the team in order for the team’s success. He grew up in Sterling Colorado and played for the community college there, (where his team beat the Cougars 4 out of five games). He is excited to come from Williston State College in North Dakota, and is even more excited that his family will get to see him coach. Some for the first time. He feels pressure and fatigue on the opposing team are what wins ball games and plans on incorporating this strategy into his team. One of the coach’s strengths lies in the fact he has a master’s degree in education, and because of this he values what educators are doing for his team.
