Announcements & Club Business:
·         Rosann reviewed the Pennies for Harvey campaign & Amanda mentioned that she might be able to get 4-H kids to participate in some sort of fundraising project, too.
·         Rachell issued a challenge to the Elgin school to do a similar drive. They accepted the challenge and their money will go with another rotary foundation donation to the victims in Florida. The stipulation from the Elgin school is that the “losing” Principal will kiss a pig!
·         Sue and Rosann will recruit PUHS students tomorrow morning, Friday, Oct. 29th, for RYLA.
·         October 11th is the proposed date to deliver dictionaries to Patagonia elementary school.
·         We talked about what the club currently does to support the First Book Project. Sue buys the books and takes them to the school where the librarian distributes them to the students on their birthdays. The club also participates in the First Things First initiative.
·         Sue talked about the Rotary Leadership Academy – Global Rewards Program and the My Rotary Site.
·         Friday the 13th of Oct. is District Conference and our club usually provides a case of wine for the hospitality event. Sue will be attending at least part of it.
·         There will be a special meeting on November 1…not a regularly scheduled meeting date. This meeting wil be with Joe Hentges and he will meet with Sue between 5 and 5:30, then join the rest of the members for the meeting. This meeting will replace our regularly scheduled Meeting on the 8th.
·         Hank reported that every club in the district got a foundation grant.
·         March 10 will be the Sierra Vista clubs’ combined fundraiser…the Baja Beach Bash.
·         April 14 is the 6th Annual Rising Sun Run and we have posters to distribute at a later date.
·         October 7th is the How the West Was Run, fun run.
·         The next meeting will be October 12th at the Steak Out, 5:30 p.m.
The meeting was adjourned at 7: 00 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Rosann Clark
