WINE AND WONDERFUL
Our club’s sixth wine tasting event, both a fun social event and Community Service fundraiser, is aptly named Wine and Wonderful this year. Jane Boynton is leading the charge, and it promises to be a terrific evening featuring delicious local restaurant offerings, great wines, and as always, plenty of Rotary fellowship. Please make sure to invite your friends and family to the Swift Community Center on Friday, May 2nd.
The evening will begin at 6pm, and tickets are only $35! You can also purchase a table of ten for only $320.
Jane also asked everyone to bring one bottle of wine, and one gift card of at least $10. People will be allowed to then purchase for $30 a mystery wine bag with a mystery certificate! Nice idea…
SCOTT CARLSON MEMORIAL ALS 5K, APRIL 19TH
Judy Pratt reminded us that the Scott Carlson ALS 5K race/event is coming up! Saturday April 19th will be the big day, and Judy needs all hands on deck to volunteer from 8am to noon. Her committee is working hard once again to make this another successful day. Our club is closing in on the $500,000 mark in total funds raised for the local RI ALSA Chapter. All funds stay here in Rhode Island to help local families battling Lou Gehrig’s Disease, something Scott wanted from day one.
FEINSTEIN HUNGER CHALLENGE
Sue Dorne is doing a wonderful job organizing our Feinstein Hunger Challenge efforts which will benefit the East Greenwich Food Pantry at St. Luke’s Church. Sue needs your cans and boxed goods between now and April 30th so keep on bringing in those blue Walmart bags each week! All donations will ultimately be matched dollar for dollar by Allan Shawn Feinstein.
CARIBBEAN LUNCH!
We were treated to a delicious Caribbean lunch buffet prepared by the Rotaract Club students.
Thank you, Rotaract Club!
