And, very happy anniversary wishes are exended this week to Alan (and Emi) Flynn.  Alan and Emi walked down the aisle, cut the cake, and started their life together on April 18th, 1964, just a brief 48 years ago.  Congratulations, Alan!

CLUB ANNIVERSARY

Charter Member Gil Thorpe was inducted into the Rotary Club of East Greenwich 49 years ago on April 20th, 1963, when, well, the Rotary Club of East Greenwich was introduced to the world.  To Gil Thorpe...founding father, past president, and tireless volunteer for nearly a half a century...our congratulations and our many thanks!

FEINSTEIN CHALLENGE

Bonnie Sauer is doing great, collecting funds and food donations for the Feinstein Hunger Challenge.  This year's food and funds will benefit the East Greenwich Ecumenical Food Cupboard at St. Luke's.  Please, with one week left, don't forget to bring your grocery bags of food, and let's wrap up another strong year and help Bonnie surpass last year's terrific effort.  To date, Bonnie has collected $240 worth of food items and $331 in cash.

ROTARY AFTER DARK

Last Thursday's Rotary After Dark, held at the East Greenwich Library, was a tremendous success.  Under Chef Lou Lepry's leadership, the club raised $1,300 for the Rhode Island Family Shelter.  Lou's three daughters were present, as well as five of Lou's good friends.  Everyone truly enjoyed Lou's eye of round roasts and Apponaug potatoes.  Thanks for the great night out, Lou, and nice work!
