Bipin Pancholi Rotarian of the Year Award

THE 2010-2011 BIPIN PANCHOLI ROTARIAN OF THE YEAR AWARD 

Dr. Bipinchandra P. Pancholi, member of the Rotary Club of East Greenwich from 1979 until his death in 2001, lived out the meaning of Rotary in his daily life and in his service to our club.

Bipin served our club and Rotary District 7950 in a variety of official capacities, including Club President (1990-91).  On the international level he was a Paul Harris Fellow.  Bipin believed in Rotary and in the Rotary motto of “Service Above Self”.  He lived his life by the Four-Way Test and observed the Objects of Rotary.  Some of Bipin’s accomplishments included the establishment of REAP and the Citrus Drive during his presidency, work with Interact and Heifer Project International, and, perhaps most importantly, Polio Plus, when he inspired us all to believe that Rotary could wipe out polio worldwide with our help.  And always, Bipin worked behind the scenes, offering his wisdom, his enthusiasm, his support, his time, and his home, whenever needed.

In honor of Bipin and his legacy of dedication and service to the Rotary Club of East Greenwich, the BIPIN PANCHOLI ROTARIAN OF THE YEAR AWARD was established in 2002.  The award will be presented again this year to a member of the Rotary Club of East Greenwich at our installation meeting on June 15, 2011.  Members of the Rotary Club of East Greenwich are invited to submit a written nomination for the award, which will recognize a club member who has made a significant contribution to our club during the Rotary year 2010-2011.
