Reading Rotary Supports Orlando

The devastating events that took place on June 12th at the Orlando Night Club Pulse, have saddened a nation. Technology has brought the reality of the situation to our finger tips. Hearing voices of people that are no longer with us, seeing text to loved ones, hearing gun shots, it’s all beyond words  The Reading Rotary wants to help.

 

We have reached out to the Orlando Rotary and done our own research. Equality Florida Action, Inc. has established a fund on the “GOFUNDME” site to help the victims and their families www.gofundme.com/PulseVictimsFund. Reading Rotary and the Orlando Rotary have vetted the authenticity of this fund raising mission. In addition, the "Gofundme" company is donating $100,000 to the fund which essentially erases their normal 5% fee. The Red Cross has suggested that blood donations are needed over the next six weeks as supplies are at critical levels.

 

The Reading Rotary has donated $1,000 and hopes that other clubs will join us in this worthy cause in some way. What better way to show Rotary is part of the community and “Service above Self.”
