Rockport Rotarian Janelle Favaloro dropped off 100 “Personal Care Packets” to the Grace Center earlier this month. 70 of the packets were for people that use the Grace Center and 30 for the Family Promise program.

The “Personal Care Packets” initiative headed by Janelle started back in April. With the help of her fellow Rotarians, friends, family and generous community donations the club was able put together 100 packets. The packets contained water, granola bars, socks, women's personal products, soap, deodorant, shampoo & conditioner, razors, tooth brushes, paste, floss, Kleenex, and hand sanitizer. Between donations of items, money, and a board budget of $250, the club was able to produce these packets for about $2.80 a piece.

The Grace Center is Gloucester’s safe, free day resource center for people who are homeless or in need of support. It offers breakfast, lunch, community and connection to resources.
Family Promise works with local faith groups of housing families and helping them get back on their feet. The program works with a small number of families at a time, dedicating many hours per week to ensure each family has the services they need to be successful.

The Rockport Rotary Club raises money to support local initiatives and reaches out to those who are most in need within our community. For more information on the Grace Center and Family Promise visit: gracecenterinc.org and familypromisensb.org.
