The Rotary Club of Lynnfield, with support from Rotary International, District 7930, Wachusett area clubs and India clubs, completed a $42,160 Girls School project in rural central India. This Grant provided 480 desks for eight schools, which will provide seating for up to 1,500 girls a year-- 15,000 girls over the expected 10-year life of the desks. In addition to the desks, the project included rain water collection and purification by reverse osmosis filters to provide clean drinking water, and computers, projectors and  screens.  This impacts several areas of focus for RI-- Education & Literacy and Clean Water & Hygiene.

Based on the success of this project, RI has approved another Grant with a budget of $69,000 to complete another 13 girls schools in rural central India. The Rotary Club of Lynnfield is proud to participate in this venture too.
