This Global Grant award is one to be proud of – and they are!

Victor Saldanha, PDG, expresses profound gratitude to: President Dick Simmons, the Board of the RC of Lynnfield and club Rotarians for their support and encouragement, specific mention to the Rotary 7930 Leadership team of Dave Manzi, Ingrid Brown and Grant Chair, Anne Lewis for their involvement.

Lynnfield Rotary Club and Global Grant partner with the Rotary Club of Cantonment, India. have recently been notified that they have received a Global Grant of $42,164 to enhance the Education and quality of life of girls in India.  With this grant the girls attending 8 schools in the state of Telengana India will soon receive school furniture, e-learning equipment including hardware and software. The remainder of the funds will be used for clean water materials.

This whole project has come about through hard work and cooperation from many Rotarian groups:  The Rotary Club and the Interact Club from Lynnfield, MA, USA and the Wachusett, MA, USA area clubs, partnering with the Rotary Club in Secunderbad India, along with local matched gifts.

To provide sustainability for this project, the grant has arranged for on-going recurring expenditures to be covered by local arrangements with the Kasturba Gandhi Trust and the Government of India
It is mind boggling to think that over a 20-year span, these schools will educate 28,800 students who will have used these desks and e-tools equipment.

Rotary truly encourages ordinary people to do extraordinary projects that change lives!
