The Chelsea Rotary Club has been sending children to summer camp for 18 years and this summer, 20 Chelsea children got to experience a week at Camp Rotary on Styles Pond in Boxford, MA.

The Chelsea Police Department partnered with the Rotary Club and provided the transportation to and from Camp Rotary as part of their commitment to community service. The Chelsea Rotary Club covers all the expenses including a weekly field trip, cash for the camp store, a backpack full of personal necessities and a group photo.  Children are selected based upon essays they write explaining why they should attend Camp Rotary. Chelsea Rotary Past President Susan Gallant oversees this project.  Camp Rotary is a private, nonprofit, educational, independent overnight camp for kids ages 7 – 15. The camp was founded as a service project of the Lynn Rotary Club in 1921.
