Twin Cities "Jump Start" Reading Program
"Twin Cities Sunrise Rotary is at it again!  This time club members were at Washington School in Sterling.  The purpose of their visit was to present a $4600 check to jumpstart the 2nd Grade Summer Reading Program for District Unit 5 and will include over 200 2nd graders from Franklin and Jefferson Schools starting this summer.
Club members will also get together with teachers involved in the program in May to help bag the books and get them ready to be handed out after Memorial Day.  Funds were made possible by a very generous donation to the club by a former member and friend of the club.
Club members present are Michael Clark, Beth McFalls, Kim Gaffey, Allen Przysucha and Darryl Wahler, along with students and faculty from Washington School.
Presenting the check to Jackie Watson, program director, is Allen Przysucha, club president."
Dixon Rotary - keeps the kids hydrated!
Dixon Rotary Club members Don Lovett (left), Stephanie Chandler, Jennifer Heintzelman, Margo Empen and Larry Farley presented three new water fountains to Reagan Middle and Madison schools.  To date, the club has donated seven fountains to Dixon schools.  Funding for the project was provided in part from the Rotary District Community Grant.
