Boards, Incoming Boards, ALL Presidents-Elect and others interested in learning what makes Rotary so great will want to be at this weekend's District Training Assembly!
Clubs are pre-paid for three to attend ... and the more the merrier! Great training ground for future leadership, too. See you at Kish on Saturday, April 8.
Many clubs are working on attaining this year's Presidential Citation. New this year: The requirements need not be met until June 30 so your club has the WHOLE Rotary year to get there!
Meanwhile, every club that reports to DG Scott that it is working toward a President's Citation will be eligible for a GOVERNOR'S CITATION to be presented at the District Conference!
One club is on board. Are there more? Let DG Scott know by April 10.
Has your club lost a member since last April? We will remember those who have passed away in brief ceremonies on Sunday morning of this year's District Conference at Starved Rock State Park.
Please let DG Scott know names and date of passing of each such member, if you know it, by April 10.
Club members and family are welcome toregister for Sunday, April 30, even if not coming for the whole conference. (To register, click into Young Professionals Summit as the remembrance ceremony will be conducted in a concurrent session that same morning.)
The COL determines changes to be made in Rotary bylaws and procedures governing the entire Rotary world.

District 5450’s Peace Corps/Rotary Committee, centered in Denver, is sponsoring a Peace Corps Connect Conference Aug. 4-6 in Denver.
All current and former members of the Peace Corps are invited.
This conference is designed to help partnership benefits and opportunities between Rotary districts and Peace Corps volunteers. For more information, contact DGE Steve Kuhn.
Congrats to those clubs that have actively invited new members into our Rotary family of friends, neighbors, business associates and volunteers!
Numbers this month tell us there's still work to be done. District-wide we started the year with 1,755 Rotarians and today we have 1,720 -- but there's still time to shift from "REVERSE" to "DRIVE!"
Spring is in the air -- a great time to hold an "open house" event, or to begin planning a June picnic.
Many clubs sponsor scholarships and RYLA students, too -- a perfect time to invite parents to help "pay it forward" for future students and families!
We are invited to join Rotary Districts 6440 and 6450 (Chicago and suburbs) for this year's Rotary Road Trip to Miller Park in Milwaukee on July 29 to see the World Series winners in action!

Putnam County's Junior High Interact Club completed a project this past month, collecting and donating food, bedding blankets, towels, leashes and treats for guests of IVAR, Illinois Valley Animal Rescue in Peru, Illinois.
Club members set boxes up in hallways with posters all over school, raising awareness for the cause in the course of collecting needed items.
Chartered in 2013, the club has 23 members and meets at noon on the first and third Thursdays.
The project is one of several local and international projects in which they participate each year. Putnam County Rotary also sponsors a High School Interact Club, which was chartered in 2008.
Please remember to include:
1. Deadlines for submissions/registrations.
2. Any logos or visuals that help tell the story.
3. Names of people in photos. We love photos of Rotarians!
