ShelterBox USA is the U.S. affiliate of ShelterBox, an international relief organization, and a strategic project partner of Rotary International. Worldwide, ShelterBox is observing Big ShelterBox Week to recognize the 120,000 boxes and tents that have been distributed to over one million disaster survivors in the aftermath of 140 disasters in 80 countries (including the U.S.). In addition to the ShelterBox tent designed for ten people, the box includes a water filtration system, a wood stove, stainless steel pots-and-pans, mosquito nets, blankets, ground sheets, a tool kit, and a child's activity kit. The network of 1.2 million Rotarians worldwide are the eyes and ears of the ShelterBox Response Team deployed on each disaster to assess damage and to evaluate what individuals are most in immediate need of the shelter, warmth, and dignity that a ShelterBox provides.
