Seventeen students from four Slidell Interact Clubs loaded a train in June to make a five day trip to the Rotary International Convention in Atlanta.  Sending the students was a joint fundraising effort of their high schools, the Slidell Rotary Club, the Slidell Northshore Rotary Club, and the Slidell Inner Wheel Club.  Total funds raised were $6500 leaving the students only $100 individual costs to be paid by the student.

While at the convention, the students listened to Bill Gates talk about why he continues to join Rotary in the fight against polio.  They also participated in the ongoing project to eliminate hunger and had an opportunity to learn about project to help people throughout the world.
