Tuesday, April 4, 2017, Tangipahoa Parish Fire District #1 was excited to pick up their latest addition from Gator Trax Boats in Springfield. On behalf of several Rotary Clubs in Tangipahoa Parish, Tangipahoa Parish Fire District #1 Chief Bruce Cutrer was presented with a check for $17,500 on Tuesday,  April 4, 2017.

These funds were raised specifically to help TPFD#1 purchase a new rescue boat, which they picked up from Gator Trax Boats on Tuesday morning. The check included $1,000 donated by the Amite Rotary Club, $1,000 from Hammond/ Ponchatoula Sunrise Club and $500 from the Kentwood Club. The Amite Club also received a $15,000 grant from the Rotary Foundation to help fund the project.
