Paul Harris Society Gala picks up where the 2019-2020 District Conference left off!
Registration is OPEN for the 2021 Paul Harris Society Gala and 2019-2020 Presidents Awards Dinner.
IPDG Bob Haeuser and DG Elizabeth Van Sant have made the best of a crazy situation to bring the annual Paul Harris Society Gala to the Higgins Hotel in New Orleans on January 8, 2021. This event, like so many in recent months, has been adapted to build upon the postponed district conference that had been scheduled for April, 2020.
We will be following all public health protocols and will limit attendance to the first 150 people to register. If any stricter guidelines with regard to groups go into effect, we will again adapt our plans. All 2019-2020 Club Presidents received a mailed invitation from 2019-2020 District Governor Bob to be first in line to register. Paul Harris Society members received a mailed invitation from DG Elizabeth and now we are issuing an invitation to all D6840 Rotarians to join us at this event. Past RI President John Germ will be our keynote speaker and we will recognize the incredible efforts of Rotarians and The Rotary Foundation. PDG Bob will present awards and citations to 2019-2020 club presidents.
The setting will be fabulous! The Higgins Hotel is part of the National WWII Museum complex in the heart of New Orleans and in April our conference was to have been the inaugural event. Our event was of course canceled and the Higgins Hotel has not yet been able to have a grand opening although it has been welcoming guests and small meetings. This is an opportunity to have a "staycation" in one of our country's treasured cities right here in D6840.
We have secured a fantastic room rate and we encourage everyone to book a room for the weekend (we have the rate from Jan 6 - Jan 11) to soak up this beautiful hotel, go to the WWII Museum,. and support the struggling tourism industry in New Orleans. Consider it an extra bit of Service Above Self!
