The BIG NEWS is that D6840 has been recognized as a Global Peacebuilder District!
What this means: our district contribution will help fund up to 130 Rotary Peace Fellows from around the world each year to study peace and development at one of the seven Rotary Peace Centers. More than 1,300 alumni of the program are actively contributing to world peace, working in areas from grassroots initiatives to policy development at the United Nations and World Bank. Global Peacebuilder Districts support these leaders through their generous donations. Each year, your district contributions support the vital work in peacebuilding and conflict prevention that clubs and districts carry out through projects supported by The Rotary Foundation. Your donations help address the causes of conflict, train leaders, and build capacity in communities around the world to overcome violence and increase resiliency so human potential can flourish.
