Rotary District 6840 is pleased to announce the selection of Vicky Gutierrez of the Rotary Club of Edgewater as our 2023-2024 District Governor!

Vicky Gutierrez was raised in Louisiana and moved to Mississippi in 1991.  While her career has been primarily in office administration, Vicky has spent most of her life involved community and volunteer work.  Raising her son and daughter, Vicky held an office in the PTA for over twenty years.  She received several awards for this work, including St. Bernard Parish and Hancock County Parent of the Year.

A Rotarian since 2001, DGND Vicky –in her words—drank the Rotary Kool Aid.  She has received several President’s Awards, Rotary Spirit Awards, Governor’s Award, and was twice selected as her club’s Rotarian of the Year.  She has held various club and district offices since 2002 including District Treasurer, Assistant Governor,  and Deputy Governor of Administration. She is a current member of the Rotary Club of Edgewater in Biloxi whose members work towards improving their local community, state, country, and world.

Vicky served on the Biloxi Chamber of Commerce Board for seven years. Serving as VP of Military Affairs for three years she began conducting welcoming tours of the area for incoming military spouses. She chaired Uncorked, a well-known Chamber event supporting education and work force development, for six years. Vicky is also past president of Centurions, a military support organization.  Centurions provide financial support to the ongoing activities and programs of work for the Military Affairs Committees in Gulfport and Biloxi, as well as the Mississippi Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce.

Her daughter, Kyla Lee, lives and works in Memphis.  Kyla is married to Michael Guyette and has a son, Adam Wyatt.  Vicky’s son, Larry Paul, lives in Dallas with his wife Jennifer Smith and three daughters, Kacey, Ashley, and Brina. Vicky says being a grandmother is the best job she has ever held!
