On Saturday, March 25, the District Assembly will convene at 10:00 a.m. at the Albuquerque Crowne Plaza located at 1901 University Blvd. NE.  This event is the premier training opportunity for all Rotarians in the District – not just district leaders.
The cost for attending is $25, which includes a plated lunch.  The session will end at 3:15 with door prizes.  In the evening, the Foundation Dinner is scheduled at 6:00 p.m., and will feature keynote speaker Christine Grodecki.  The cost of the Foundation Dinner is just $50.  Special hotel rates are available from the Crowne Plaza at $89 for either Friday or Saturday night.
It’s easy to register from the District website, and a link is included for the hotel.
We are pleased to welcome Gretchen and Gary Bren, from Omaha, Nebraska and Christine Grodecki of the Rotary Foundation, who will be presenters.  Gretchen has served as District 5650 Polio Plus Chair and is a recipient of both the Rotary Foundation Citation for Meritorious Service and the International Service Award for a Polio –Free World.  Gary Bren currently serves as District Governor for District 5650.
The training will focus on the priorities of the Rotary strategic plan, which include membership, Rotary Foundation and Public Image.  For those clubs who are planning to apply for any district grants, the session will include grants training that will qualify your club to participate in a grant. At least two persons from the club must attend grants training in order to qualify for a grant.
It’s easy to register from the District website, and a link is included for the hotel.
P.S. Consider joining us at Applebee’s at 2600 Menaul NE, just minutes from the Crowne Plaza, before the Assembly.  The Rotary Club of Albuquerque Sandia will host a pancake breakfast beginning at 8:00 a.m. for just $9.
