February is Peace & Conflict Prevention and Resolution Month

As you might remember from my Club visit, Peace and Conflict Prevention is very dear to my heart. Peace within ourselves, among family and friends, in our community, and in the world. It is a subject we can never forget and a state we need to continue to focus upon. I hope you will have a program or a conversation in your club during this month, how we as Rotarians can support this area of focus.

On February 23rd it is Rotary’s Anniversary. Have the cake and candles ready and celebrate! We have so much to be proud of.

Registration for the District Convention in Oshkosh, May 1st and 2nd is now available. We are going to have great time to “Celebrate” our accomplishments. And you will have the opportunity to see and learn about the programs, the reach, and the impact our District has in our communities and around the world. But most importantly of all, you will meet other Rotarians with whom you exchange ideas. The speakers and the breakout sessions at the Convention reflects concerns and issues in our communities and I hope it will create awareness.

From the Promotion Committee:
Plan your spring getaway to Oshkosh and get inspired by attending the Western Great Lakes District Conference, “Celebrate Rotary,” May 1-2, 2020.
It is also time to register for the International Conference in Honolulu, June 6th – 10th. Register before March 31st, before the rates go up. We already have a group of 40 people attending from our District.

The theme for this year is ‘Rotary Connects the World’. One of the many ways we connect to other Rotarians in other parts of the world is through Global Grants. With Rotarians’ leadership, skillsets, connections, and support from The Rotary Foundation, we can make a positive impact on the lives of less fortunate people. If you have a project in mind, please contact Global Grant Chair John Hein or one of the members of the Grant Committee. And by the way, seminars for both District and Global Grants have been scheduled. Remember to sign up.

We have another eventful and exciting month ahead of us. Let Rotary Connect the World.
