NATIONAL YOUTH SCIENCE FORUM January 2019
It's not too long now until applications for the 2019 NYSF Year 12 Program will be closing (31 May 2018 to be exact). We'd really appreciate it if you could share the love to help us promote the program, even if it's just to one person - a Year 11 student, their parent, a high school teacher - who you think would be interested in the opportunity we offer.
We, as Rotarians, play a huge part in NYSF’s ongoing success.
The NYSF is a 12 day residential program for students entering year 12 who are passionate about science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM). The NYSF program aims to show participants the wide variety of study and career options in STEM fields. NYSF seeks to ‘spark’ already capable students to new heights of ambition and achievement in Science. Can you help?
Clubs are urged to contact the Head of Science at neighbouring high schools and encourage students in Year 11 to apply. NYSF will accommodate 50 % more students next year and will now include Brisbane or Canberra as destinations.
How students can apply for the NYSF 2019 - Three easy steps
For more information contact the 9465 District Chair: Ross Sweeney on 0430 341 605 or email to sweeney@iinet.net.au
If a student is having any issues with their application, the NYSF Office is here to help! We can best be contacted via email at programs@nysf.edu.au or phone on 02 6125 2777.

Rotarians invited to Australia New Zealand Conference
14 - 16 September 2018
The Conference (formerly the Institute) will be held in Hobart on 14 – 16 September 2018 and Rotary International Director Noel Trevaskis invites all Rotarians to join us for this event. There will be a number of interesting presenters covering Rotary projects and issues of interest together with a variety of breakout sessions. What better way to keep up-to-date and enjoy mixing with Rotarians from all Australian states and the North and South Islands of New Zealand as well as visiting some of the many attractions on offer.
Further details can be found on the Conference website http://www.rotaryinstitute.org.au/and additional information is available from the contacts listed on the site.
And there is more! Rotaractors can attend the conference at a reduced fee and participants in the Youth Exchange Program in 2018-19 or in the past 5 years can attend with no fee to pay. We know of several Rotarians who intend to holiday in Tasmania in conjunction with the Conference – why not you? Why not assist Rotaractors and Youth Exchange participants/alumni to join you?
