This summer, Debbie and I have enjoyed visiting clubs and getting to know our Rotary family. All the clubs we have visited in July and August are doing some amazing community service. While many clubs have similar service projects, each club has found their unique and special way of serving the members in their respective communities and meeting the needs of those outside their community. All the time keeping fellowship and fun part of the process.
As we start a new Rotary year. I encourage you all to tell your Rotary Story. Do you believe in Rotary, for what it stands for? If so, tell your story. Have you worked with the youth in your area? Worked at a food pantry? Participated in an International Humanitarian Project, Water, Sanitation, Wheelchair Delivery, or a Medical Mission. If so, share this experience with another person. If you are truly passionate about rotary and what it stands for. Share that belief.
When we’re better able to communicate who we are in Rotary, what we stand for, and what we do, we’re much more likely to attract new members who will fit into our organization and new partners who will help us leverage our service to achieve even more.
Please remember our service will be guided, by three common goals.
- To support and strengthen our clubs.
- To focus and increase our humanitarian service.
- To enhance Rotary’s public image and awareness.
We have found that each club in their own way are working on and will achieve these goals.
I look forward to seeing all Presidents at the Fall District Assembly on Saturday October 28th in St. Georges, Quebec. I ask that all Presidents encourage other members of their clubs to also attend. This assembly is a one-day event for an opportunity for fellowship, to hear from leaders in the District and learn the good things going on inside the District.
Always remember that you are Rotary and you are making a difference!
