Tina Chapman is the Senior Engagement Officer at Kennebec Behavioral Health (KBH) located in Waterville, Maine. In that role, Tina is responsible for internal and external outreach, engagement, public relations and marketing to support the agency’s mission, as well as development and fundraising for agency programs. Additionally, she is the administrator and supervisor for KBH’s Substance Use Prevention, Intervention and Grant Services program. Tina has a Bachelor of Arts, Psychology Degree from the University of Maine at Farmington, a Masters of Business Administration from Thomas College in Waterville, and is beginning her Masters of Public Health program through University of Southern Maine in January 2021.
Tina joined the Rotary Club of Waterville in 2007 and became Community Services Chair in 2010 as well as a member of the Board. She has coordinated many projects including food drives, a Born Learning trail, book give-a-ways and Little Free Libraries, winterization kits for families living in poverty, and a breastfeeding support program for new mothers at the Mid-Maine Homeless Shelter.
In 2013, she championed the Waterville Rotary Club’s Rhoda Reads™ Early Literacy Program, which provides training and Rhoda Reads book kits to Rotarians (with our mascot Rhoda the Owl) and matches them with a child care provider or elementary classroom. She’s been integral to growing the program since, which includes a children’s book “Rhoda’s Rescue” which is based on the Rotary ideals of fellowship, community and Service Above Self. Rhoda's Rescue has been translated and reprinted into both French – Le sauvetage de Rhoda and Spanish – El rescate de Rhoda.
As Club President is 2016-2017, Tina worked with the Sunrise (Waterville) and Unity Clubs on a water and sanitation project in Chiquex and Xesajcap II, Guatemala through a Global Grant from Rotary International. The project provided clean water and sanitation facilities of a sustainable nature to members of the indigenous Mayans living in Guatemala's highlands. In January 2017, she and the project team traveled to Guatemala for a service trip to build latrines in the neighboring Mayan village of Chipata.
In 2017-2018, Tina chaired the Waterville Rotary Club’s Centennial Gala Committee which culminated in the Gala Event which was held in October, 2018. One of her favorite elements was specially designed Rotary flags that were presented to each of the club’s past presidents and featured the RI theme and logo from their year as president (going as far back as 1968), as well as their key projects and thoughts about the future of Rotary.
Tina is currently Rotary Club of Waterville’s Secretary, District 7790’s Assistant Governor for Area 12, District Membership Team Co-Chair, and is also known to dress up as Rhoda the Owl to promote the Rhoda Reads program.
Tina lives in Winslow with her spouse Dr. Lisa Morin and their two labs Stella and Salim. She has two adult children who also live in Winslow, Connor (25) and Melody (21).
