Recently the Rotary Club of Victoria-Harbourside wrote checks to community groups totaling roughly $96,000. Every year the club asks for submissions from the community looking for funding.  At a regular meeting the groups were invited for breakfast and checks were handed out.

Each organization is teamed with a Rotarian to communicate with in the future to see how the monies are being handled.  Also, each group was emailed a request to stay in touch and provide a message with pictures as to how the fund are used.   These messages are used to inspire membership as well as tell the public.   Cross promotion on social media was encouraged to good success.  The messages and images were used on two Harbourside Facebook pages, one being a page, and one being group.  (So one is “internal” club messaging and one site is “external”).
