Thank you, thank you, thank you to each and every Rotarian in District 5020 for helping to make our District one of the best in the world.

Don and I have enjoyed meeting so very many of you at our DLTA that took place in Victoria in April of 2016, our District Conferences in Olympia and in Suquamish and at either the Rotary International Convention that took place in Seoul, Korea or this month in Atlanta, GA.  The warm welcome we received at your club meetings was very much appreciated.

Our District 5020 group at the Convention in Atlanta was over 120 Rotarians and partners.  If you didn’t get a chance to attend the Convention in Atlanta, do consider Toronto Canada next June 23-27.

June has been designated as Rotary Fellowship month.  This can certainly happen for some of us at a Rotary International Convention.  For some of us a gala lunch or evening in June where your club celebrates the accomplishments of this past Rotary year and inducts the new officers who will lead your club in the next Rotary year.

We all have neighbors, friends or associates at work that might very much enjoy the fellowship that you enjoy every week at your Rotary meeting.  Sometimes a simple “ask” is all it takes.  Who could you invite to the next Rotary meeting?

The accomplishments of our Rotary Foundation just go on and on.  Grants are available to clubs to design projects in their home communities as well as in impoverished areas of the world.  Rotary Foundation Grants enable Rotarians to do projects on a much larger scale than most clubs are able to do on their own.  There is a Cadre of Technical Advisors to help design and help clubs to meet the sustainability component that is necessary for a successful project.

As summer begins so does a new Rotary year.  On July 1, new leaders will step forward to lead our District and our clubs.  It has been an honor for me to serve each of our 90 clubs this year and I look forward to the next Rotary year under Tom Carroll’s leadership.
