HOW DO YOU TELL YOUR COMMUNITY ABOUT THE ROTARY FOUNDATION?
Recently District Foundation Chair William McCarthy was interviewed by MMixx 96.1 FM in Thurston County Washington. He was at a Rotary meeting sitting next to a local radio moderator, Dick Pust, when he mentioned that the local communities knew very little about Rotary in spite of the presence of nine clubs and over 550 Rotarians.
His comment inspired Mr. Pust who has begun a series of radio interviews with leaders in the many service clubs in Thurston County. Mr. McCarthy was honored to be the first representative of the local service clubs to talk about the good we do in the local community and around the world.
Prior to this interview being aired Mr. Pust promoted it on his Facebook page. Mr. Pust is a respected area Radio personality with over 50 years in broadcasting.
Most everyone has heard of Rotary, but not everyone knows what it is. If you are a Rotarian, you know, but many others don't have a clue. I thought it would be fun to feature as many service clubs as I can find and invite their leaders to be on my "It's Your Community" program on KXXO-FM. I thought I'd start with Bill McCarthy. He's a Rotary past district governor. Even if you think you already know all there is about Rotary, I bet Bill will tell you something you didn't know. Listen Sunday (Dec 22) at 9 am on MIXX96.1.
The link below will take you the taped 10 minute interview! Once there scroll down the site to the December 22nd interview.
